Adding to the current drowning toll which stands at 3 compared to 9 for the same period last year a woman in her 40s is believed to be the country’s latest drowning victim.
The victim who had gone fishing was last seen by her husband between 5.00pm-6.00pm at their home before he left for their farm in Nabuyanitu Village in Navosa yesterday.Upon reaching home the deceased’s husband discovered her missing , their neighbors were alerted whereby a search was conducted.
Police have confirmed that the victim’s body was retrieved from a nearby creek and was taken to the Keiyasi Health Centre where she was unfortunately pronounced dead.A post mortem is yet to be conducted in order to ascertain the cause of death.
