“Banking for generations”
Westpac Fiji is planning to host the first ever Westpac Microfinance Night Market in Suva, in partnership with Suva City Council on Thursday 3rd October at the Central Car Park on Central Street in suva.
The bank’s decision to host the night market follows a number of successful Microfinance markets held at Suva branch, Garden City and FNPF Downtown Boulevard.
Westpac started its first Microfinance market in February 2010 with 29 micro entrepreneurs and after 3 years the number has grown to 80 micro entrepreneurs and showing no signs of slowing down.
“These Microfinance markets are a fantastic opportunity for micro entrepreneurs to network with each other and build a strong reputation” said Nirosh Weerasinghe, Acting General Manager Westpac Fiji.”Given the success of our previous markets, we thought a night market would be a fun opportunity to do something different.” he added.
Westpac is very grateful to Suva’s Special Administrator, Mr Chandu Umaria for providing the venue free of charge. “We value this partnership and are extremely excited about continuing to provide a platform for micro entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their products.
Westpac is committed to the empowerment of micro entrepreneurs and encourages anyone who thinks they may benefit from a Financial First Steps and Business Basic workshop to register their interest at their nearest Westpac branch.
Meanwhile, Westpac has twenty branches and 47 ATMs in all major towns and cities around Fiji and 60 In-store Banking outlets in rural areas.
