Nadi, 11 September2015 –Tourism Fiji will be undertaking exciting changes to its official website, www.fiji.travel, in the coming months to enhance the end-user experience – all in efforts to increase visitor numbers to Fiji.
Fiji.travel is a key marketing tool for Tourism Fiji to attract potential visitors to Fiji from its eight source markets. On average, Tourism Fiji receives some 150,000+ visitors (returning and new) to Fiji.travel per month, with users viewing an average of 2.35 pages and each sessions lasting an average of 2.22 minutes.
The two main features on the revamped website will include a new ‘Experiences’ section that will group industry listings under a few primary categories, making it easier to search for key activity, dining, and event options, as well as a New Special Offers page. Future plans are to introduce virtual tours of selected locations in Fiji to better provide for the information needs of travellers to Fiji.
Tourism Fiji Global PR Manager, Patricia Mallam says, “New categories such as Weddings, Health & Wellness, Families, Luxury, Nature, Culture& Heritage will also create an opportunity for a wider pool of tourism industry-related service providers to list on the site.”
“Another exciting new change will be the introduction of a new ‘Special Offers’ page on the website’s main menu. This new feature will showcase all current offers from the industry, driving traffic to individual listings on the site and hopefully result in more bookings, which will essentially increase our visitor numbers,” she explains.
It is important to note that all existing listings will automatically transfer across to the revamped website and industry partners who have already registered their listing should not be worried about having to re-register their products.
“We are excited about the new changes and we encourage all our industry partners to update their listings by the end of September to avoid any inconvenience as we transition to the new-look website,” Ms Mallam adds.
Tourism Fiji invites all our industry partners to use this opportunity to update content on our website as all our marketing campaigns are directed to the website. Given that it is the official site – it generates more traffic than other websites which promote Fiji as a destination.
The changes to fiji.travel are expected to be completed by the end of the month and launched during Tourism Fiji’s Industry Day on 20 October. Plans for offering a virtual tour are currently in progress with the launch date to be announced shortly.
