The Vodafone Fiji Under-19 side beat Metro 2-1 facing difficult conditions at Phyliss Street to clinch their third victory in the New Zealand tour.
Metro side had the services of All Whites rep Ian Hogg.
National coaching director Juan Carlos Buzzetti says the cold condition was a challenging factor for the Fiji U-19 side.
“It was one of those colder nights that affected our boys a bit but they managed to win 2-1 in what we can label as one of the toughest game of the tour so far,” Buzzetti said.
“Metro played very well, they were a young team and captained by NZ rep Ian Hogg. Metro was at their beat and created good chances, but our team managed to win at the end.”
Metro scored an own goal when a Fiji U-19 strike deflected one of the defenders. Metro bounced back but Samuela Nabenia scored the match winner with his 30 meter strike.
“It was not a great performance but to win the first three games on tour has made the boys confident as we prepare for the upcoming matches,” Buzzetti said.
The side faces Western Springs tomorrow night 7pm at Seddon Fields. The Springs side is coached by interim All Whites coach Neil Emblem.
