The Telecom Fiji Limited Optic Fibre Network at the Vuda Bridge was deliberately damaged Wednesday night which has resulted in partial outages and service disruptions to voice and internet services to western parts of Viti Levu and to the whole of Vanua Levu.
The extent of the damage is still being assessed. Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mothilal De Silva commented, “due to the damages, some parts of Fiji will be experiencing slow internet speeds. Our Support Engineers where alerted to determine the root cause and exact location of the damage. We are working to restore services at the earliest.”
The Police have been notified and they are currently carrying out investigations in this regard.
We are anticipating to restore services this morning.
