A 15 year old died Saturday following an accident on Taveuni on Friday night.
The victim was airlifted to the Labasa Hospital for medical treatment Saturday morning for further medical treatment following the accident, but however died yesterday afternoon.
He was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old that was involved in an accident on Friday night at Naselesele, Taveuni.
It is alleged the suspect lost control of the vehicle whilst trying to overtake another vehicle along the North Coastal Road causing it to veer of the road.
The suspect and another 15 year old passenger escaped injuries however the victim sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the Labasa Hospital where he unfortunately passed away.
A post mortem will be conducted as investigations continue.
The road death toll stands at 38 compared to 30 for the same period last year.
