Fiji’s Opeti tagi lost his fight against Filipino, Australian based boxer Ray Anton Orlate on points, on last week Saturday night.
Orlate started strong and remained a tough opponent all throughout the twelve rounds for the 31-year – old Tagi.
“To compare this fight and to the other fight against Farzaan when I last came here, I would have to say, this would be the tough one, Tagi is surely a good component,” he said.
Tagi fell in the ring three times.
The country’s well known boxer, Tagi said he accepts the defeat and looks forward on improving from it.
In other fights of the Naidiri Boxing Promotion, Napoleon Tamaaepeon knocked out Alipate Nagata in the first round, Franco Fraser won by 3rd round technical knockout against Iasia Raqila, Ronald Naidu defeated Waisale Ratu on points, Ravneet Ton Ton lost to Ram Sami on points, Sachin Mudliar won against Azmat Manna on points, Junior Manna defeated Arjun Kumar on points while Junior Naivogo and Junior Maku fight ended in a draw.
