The All Freight Logistics Suva side is the winners of the Fiji Sun/ Skipper Tuna National Football league as they become the first of the two teams to confirm their place in the OFC Champions league next season.
This was confirmed after the Gurjit Singh coached side outclassed the BOG champions Rewa 3-1 in an exciting league encounter at Rau Cakobau Park in Nausori earlier tonight, September 12.
As promised, the match lived up to expectations as both teams displayed some constructive football from the first whistle.
Inspirational marksman Leone Damudamu drew the first blood into the game with his well-timed header in the 15th minute following a cross from Ravinesh Karan Singh as the whites enjoyed a 1-nil lead at the breather.
The Marika Rodu coached delta tigers came firing into the second half as Misaele Draunibaka leveled the scores midway into the second after as the introduction of veteran defender Lorima Dau added some fire power in the Rewa defense.
However, Shahil Dave broke the hearts of the mighty Rewa fans as he took advantage of the mistake by goalkeeper Manasa Benito to put Suva into the lead before another blunder by Manasa allowed Suva to put the final nail into their coffin and clinch the national league title with 30 points in their bag.
Meanwhile, Labasa is also in contention for the second team to qualify for o-league from Fiji after they defeated 4R Electric Ba 2-0 at Govind Park in Ba earlier tonight, thanks to the goals from Apisalome Turuva and Joseph Mishra.
