Mariners and those with plans to go out to sea are being advised to take heed of the weather warning in place.
According to the Nadi Weather Office a strong wind warning remains in force for Yasawa and Mamanuca, Lomaiviti and the Lau group, Vanua Levu and Taveuni, and this should serve as a precaution to all those wanting to venture out to sea.
It is understandable that people will be wanting to go out to sea as is it is a weekly Saturday activity, however caution is advised at all times. Once again people should refrain from going out and those opting to go must ensure they have all the necessary safety provisions.
Means of communication and necessary tools must be onboard in case of engine failure and a call must be made to your nearest community post, station or 917 if you encounter problems.
