At the conclusion of Papua New Guinea’s victory over Vanuatu in the final day of play in the 2014 ICC EAP in Lismore yesterday, the official closing function and awards ceremony was held at the Oakes Oval complex.
Based on performances throughout the seven rounds of matches, a Team of the Tournament was named, comprising of 12 athletes from four countries:

Mahuru Dai (PNG)

Sekove Ravoka – WK (Fiji)

Patrick Matautaava (Vanuatu)
Willie Gavera (PNG)
Jelany Chilia (Vanuatu)
Viliame Manakitoga (Fiji)
Additionally the Player of the Tournament was awarded according to the umpires’ votes at the conclusion of each match. This year the award was tied between Lega Siaka from PNG, who amassed a whopping 256 runs at a strike rate of 191.04 for the tournament, and Riyad Khan from Fiji, who was the leading wicket taker for the tournament, with 19 wickets at an economy rate of 3.89.
Some teams will depart Lismore today, whilst the top four teams, excluding PNG and Vanuatu, will now play-off in a 50-over tournament to decide who will qualify to represent the EAP region in World Cricket League Division 6, beginning tomorrow.
