MEDIA RELEASE
SEATTLE, Washington, USA – (Sept. 12, 2013) – Serevi Rugby®(www.serevirugby.com), an elite provider of on-field programming and apparel, and the Tappoo Group (www.tappoo.com.fj), a leading Fijian-based retailer, today announced that Tappoo Department Stores will be the exclusive retailer of Serevi Rugby’s performance and casual apparel in Fiji. Co-founded by the Fijian international rugby legend Waisale Serevi, Serevi Rugby’s latest line of apparel will be on sale in Tappoo stores beginning in September and feature a full line of high performance rugby jerseys, shorts, and training kits, as well as t-shirts, hoodies, and headwear.
“We’re proud to partner with Serevi Rugby to bring this level of high quality and inspiring clothing to the people of Fiji,” said Madhu Tappoo, CEO of the Tappoo Group. “Waisale continues to be an amazing ambassador for the game of rugby and the country of Fiji all over the world, so sharing his message through this apparel is a great thing for us and all Fijians.”
“Even as we’re focused on growing the game of rugby around the world, Fiji is where I started and where my heart is, so this agreement is special to me,” said Waisale Serevi. “I receive many letters of support from the people of Fiji asking where they can find our apparel to support our efforts. The partnership with Tappoo makes it easier for people at home to find and proudly wear Serevi gear.”
Much awarded for design elegance, presentation standards and product range, Tappoo stores are located at key commercial centers of Suva, Nadi, Sigatoka, Nausori together with all major resorts and international airports in Fiji. These stores offer an exclusive range of selected international brands to satisfy the most demanding taste.
In addition to apparel, Serevi Rugby continues to evolve its skills and coaching programming to create a rugby pathway from beginner to Olympian for thousands of players across the world. At the beginner end, this means working with partners to introduce rugby to a new and much wider group of children and then steering them to clubs and high school teams through camps. At the upper end, it means operating Academies in partnership with national teams to identify and train the nation’s best talent. Throughout the pathway, Serevi works with coaches to build technical skills and coaching knowledge.
