Alleged drowning
An investigation is underway following the death of a 3 year old boy who was discovered floating in a river yesterday.
The incident occurred in a village in Tailevu whereby the child was discovered floating in a nearby river by his mother. It is alleged the 3 year old victim was last with his mother both of whom were resting and when she woke up she discovered him missing.
Upon searching she found her son floating in a nearby river. A post mortem will be conducted soon as investigations continue.
Alleged student assaults
The teacher alleged to have assaulted a 6 year old boy in Rakiraki has been charged with one count of assault. She was bailed yesterday to reappear on Wednesday 16/10/13.
Meanwhile the teacher alleged to have assaulted a class eight student in Savusavu earlier this week is currently being interviewed as investigations continue.
In the third incident in Vunidawa, investigations continue.
