Police and Non Government Organizations can now improve their working relationships thanks to the workshop organized by the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre.
40 Police officers from around the Suva City area will take part in a five days workshop which will help them understand their roles better especially in dealing with Human Rights issues.
Police participants will also learn about gender relations and how this relates to Violence against women and girls.
The workshop will also increase their skills in appropriate response to female victims reporting gender based violence.
In these five days officers will learn in-depth about the Domestic Violence Decree, Crimes Decree and Child Welfare Decree.
Similar workshop is expected to be held in the Eastern Division in two weeks time.
The five days workshop will be officially close on Friday by the Fiji Police Force Director of Operations Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tito Elo.
