ROAD FATALITY CLAIMS ANOTHER LIFE
A 26 year old woman is believed to be the country’s latest road fatality.
The victim was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a 30 year old man of Nadi who lost control of his car while traveling towards Lautoka.
The incident occurred at around 1.30pm along the Queens Road, Wamalika near the School of Agriculture, Nadi.
It is alleged the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to hit the left side of an on-coming four wheel drive.
The victim was conveyed to the Nadi Hospital and later died while the 30 year old driver is admitted in hospital and is yet to be questioned.
Police say that a total of fatality cases for 2013 stands at 11 while 2014’s now stands at 13.
Meanwhile the 68yr old driver and the 58yr old passenger in the other vehicle are also admitted at the Nadi Hospital as investigations continue.
Assault victim dies
A victim of a serious assault case sadly passed away at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital on Saturday, March, 29.
Police received a call of a serious assault case where a fight had broken out between two men outside the Suva Handicraft centre on Friday, March 28 at 11pm.
Upon arrival police discovered the 24 year old man lying unconscious and conveyed him to the CWM Hospital whereby he passed away on Saturday, March 29 at 5am
A 35 year old diver of Davuilevu Housing was brought in for questioning for his alleged involvement in the assault.
Investigations continue
PROGRESS REPORT (ALLEGED ILLICIT DRUG)
The man taken in for questioning on Friday, March 28, for his alleged involvement in the importing of alleged illicit drugs has been released.
The man was taken in at the Criminal Investigations Department in Suva on Friday morning.
Investigators are still awaiting the results of the analysis tests on the kava package allegedly containing illicit substances.
