1. Serious accident
Two people have been admitted in hospital as a result of road accidents in the last 24 hours.
The first accident occurred yesterday morning in Cunningham Road, Suva where a 46 year old man was bumped by a taxi whilst he was walking along the road. He was rushed by bystanders to the hospital where he is being admitted and in a critical condition.
The second accident happened at Caubati last evening at 6.40 pm where a car driven by a 23 year old man bumped a 21 year old student. The student is now admitted at CWM Hospital.
2. Defilement:
A 49 year old woman is in police custody in Labasa after she was alleged to have defiled a 15 year old student. The suspect is expected to be produced in court today.The alleged incident took place in November last year.
3. DRUGS
Two villagers aged 27 and 37 of Viani in Cakaudrove are in police custody after 147 plants and a bag containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana were recovered from their farms. Police raided their farms after a tip-off.
