1. Taxi Robbery
Four unknown men robbed a 44 year old taxi driver of $50.00 cash and mobile phone valued $180.00 at Sukhu Park Road, Raiwasa.
The suspects hired the taxi from RB Centrepoint and upon reaching Raiwasa they punched the driver and he managed to run to another driver for assistance. The suspects then drove the taxi away.
The taxi was later found abandoned at CWM hospital car park.
Investigations continuing.
2. Murder update
Post mortem was held on deceased namely Jai Chand, 35-year old yesterday at Labasa mortuary.
The cause of death was ruptured heart and on DPP’s advice, Suren Chand, 43-yrs, laborer of Naleba no.18 and Sushil Chand, 34-yrs, laborer of Savusavu were jointly charged for one count of murder and will appear at Labasa M/C today.
The third suspect Anand Sami Goundar, 32-yrs is now treated as Police witness.
