France based Joeli Lutumailagi is one of the overseas based players that are now making themselves available for the national sevens team in the upcoming World Cup in Russia, after the team’s performance in the New Zealand 7s last week.
“I am now well recovering and I will be happy to represent my country again in the world cup in Russia,” he said.
Lutumailagi who suffered a neck injury after he copped a high tackle in a friendly match against Beziers last year is engaging himself in new trainings that will enable him get back on track.
“I am currently learning judo and boxing so that I can improve my tackles, which I really need to improve on,” he said.
Lutumailagi will be fit to play next month.
Scotland based player Nikola Matawalu has also declared his availability to don the national jumper in the World cup.
Fiji will meet England at 12pm Saturday in the USA Sevens.
Fiji will then face Scotland at 3.19pm Saturday and Portugal at 8am Sunday.
