Outrigger on the Lagoon ∙ Fiji was a hive of activity last week as the resort played host to rugby 7s legends, the Northern Suburbs rugby team and the Serevi selects men’s team for the Bayley’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s.
Former England captain Ben Gollings, the all time successful coach of the champion All Blacks New Zealand 7s team Sir Gordan Tietjens and the King of Sevens Waisale Serevi and their families were hosted at the resort for the duration of the tournament.
Outrigger on the Lagoon ∙ Fiji General Manager Peter Hopgood stated the resort was delighted to be a premier sponsor of the Bayley’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s adding hosting the 7s legends at the resort was a memorable experience.
“Having Sir Gordon, Ben Gollings and Waisale Serevi walk around together at our resort enjoying our Outrigger hospitality was an amazing experience for our staff and guests alike. We didn’t think twice when we were asked to take on the hosting sponsorship for the Bayley’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s because of these enriching experiences the tournament provides everyone involved”, Mr. Hopgood stated.
“Outrigger is very proud to be associated with the tournament that brought these legends down for the people of Nadroga and Fiji. The Bayley’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s was a fantastic tournament and we look forward to our participation again next year”, Mr. Hopgood added.
The Bayley’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s opening cocktail was launched at the resorts adults’ only pool and bistro Vahavu on Wednesday 13 November, where the tournaments VIPs, sponsors and partners were present.
