Tuesday 13 May 2014 – Fijian netball team goal-attack, Maria Lutua is the new Digicel Fiji Brand Ambassador.
In a press conference at the Digicel Headquarters in Suva, it was announced that Lutua is the first Fijian netballer to sign on a personal contract, the deal with Digicel Fiji is for two-years.
Lutua was overwhelmed at the signing ceremony and said she had never dreamt that she’ll get a personal contract.
“I’m honoured and I would like to thank Digicel for considering me to become a brand ambassador. I never dreamt that I’ll be able to land a personal contract,” said Lutua.
“This is a big step in my netball career and I’m delighted to take this new opportunity, which I think will boost other players in the national team.”
Digicel Fiji’s Head of Marketing, Ms. Sheryl Singh was happy to see Lutua become, now the only female in the male dominated brand ambassadors list for the company.
“It’s great to have Maria on board and I’m sure she’ll enjoy her term as a brand ambassador,” said Ms. Singh.
“We provide great opportunities for our brand ambassadors and we have them involved in a lot of community work like visiting hospitals, orphanage homes and other activities.”
Lutua was presented with the latest phone to hit the Fiji market, a Samsung Galaxy S5.
The national netballer joins Pacific’s fastest man Banuve Tabakaucoro, Paralympic gold medalist Iliesa Delana, Fiji Rugby 7s captain Osea Kolinisau and former Fiji Rugby 7s captain Setefano Cakaunivalu as Digicel Fiji brand ambassadors.
