This week fine sunny weather prevailed over the majority of the rainfall stations monitored with just a few brief and very isolated afternoon showers in the interior with falls of 10 to 15mm. Coastal regions remained mostly dry. Humidity levels are dropping now as we move towards the cooler and drier winter season meaning evaporation levels are increasing also.
Some bright news for the farmers as some significant rain is expected by the end of the week. Clouds associated with low pressure system are currently over New Caledonia and are expected to move over Fiji on Friday and continue over the weekend. Accumulations of 30 to 50mm can be expected before the rain clears away late on Sunday.
