Fiji Swimming is proud to announce the appointment of one of Fiji’s prominent swimming representatives, Dennis Miller, as a member of the Executive Committee of the International Governing Body for the Sport of Aquatics.
At the FINA (International Swimming Federation) Bureau Meeting held in Cancun, Mexico earlier this month, Oceania Swimming Association President Dennis Miller was appointed to the 5 man Executive Committee of the International Governing Body for the Sport of Aquatics. This appointment followed FINA’s decision last year to expand its Executive Committee to include representatives of all 5 Continental Associations.
Miller joins FINA President and IOC Member from Uruguay Dr. Julio Maglione, European Swimming Federation President Mr. Paolo Barelli from Italy, FINA Hon. Treasurer Mr. Pipat Paniangvait from Thailand and African Swimming Confederation President and IOC Member in South Africa Mr. Sam Ramsamy on the FINA Executive.
Fiji Swimming President, Jerome Kado said that this was a great achievement not only for Mr Miller as an individual but also for both Fiji and the Oceania region. It reflects and further strengthens Fiji’s capability and potential to contribute more to Regional and International sports.
