You know that saying, “all good things must come to an end?” Well, that’s because nothing lasts in this world. (Now go ponder your morality for the rest of the night. You’re welcome.) So it is with a heavy heart we inform you of the tragic (yet inevitable) news that pop music supercouple Katy Perry and John Mayer have broken up. Again.
The couple began dating in summer 2012 before breaking up in August, only to get together again a month later. But according to Us Weekly, they recently split up for a second time. While Perry Tweeted about her happiness on March 2, by the 18th she hinted at some personal turmoil, and sources confirmed that the pair is over once more.

Considering their history, however, their relationship might not be done for good. “It’s sad,” a “pal” of the couple tells the magazine, but “it’s not over until it’s over. You have to see how things play out.”
The reason for their split? Work, apparently. “[Katy] is leaving the window open” for a reconciliation, but they’re apart for now because they’ve both been concentrating on their careers, a source tells Us. “They have both been so focused on work.”
What’s the proper mourning period for a second celebrity breakup? Just trying to plan outfits for the rest of the week.
