Investigations are still continuing after 7 men aged between 16-30 years of age are currently in custody for allegedly raping a 16 year old student of Savusavu.
The victim had accompanied one of the victims on the early hours of the 3rd of this month and with another suspect she was told to wait in a house where the incident allegedly took place.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro mentioned also mentioned that rape cases are just one of the issues that trigger a red alert response from police and priority is given to bring those responsible to justice within a 24-48 hour period.
Incidents that violate women of their safety will not be condoned and this is the stand we will continue to take as well as other red alert cases that rob innocent parties of their safety.
