John Isaac and Sera Naivalurua who are charged with two counts each of theft and aggravated burglary have been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment.
The incidents happened on the 5th and 8th of June last year in Suva.
On the 5th of June, they stole assorted items worth $4000 and on the 8th of June last year they stole assorted items worth $11,800 from the same house.
While sentencing the two, Judge, Justice Aruna Aluthge told them the people in Fiji are now in a state of fear and anxiety that their property and home will be invaded at any time by unscrupulous people like them.
Justice Aluthge says therefore, custodial sentence is inevitable in this case to denounce your offending and deter you and others from committing these types of offences in future.
A non-parole period of 18 months has been set.
