Zumba Wednesdays, savings seminars and women’s health talks are just a few programs organized for staff at the Outrigger on the Lagoon · Fiji for the month of July.
Designated as a month for ‘Living Well’ the resort’s Human Resources Department has organized programs and activities to encourage the 640 odd staff to live healthier fuller lives.
Human Resources Manager Lite Daunabou says the idea is to ensure that their staff are living healthy lives which in turn will increase productivity at work.
“We had to look at innovative ways to encourage our staff to ‘live well’ and we thought that zumba is the latest buzz in fitness regimes so we thought to incorporate classes after work where our staff can have fun and exercise at the same time. We are also including savings seminars because we want our staff to utilize their wages properly where they also have a healthy savings account for the future”, Mrs. Daunabou stated.
“Women’s health is also at the fore of this month’s activities and we have the medical team from the Sigatoka District Hospital coming in to lecture our female staff on their health and hygiene issues,” she continued.
Mrs. Daunabou says she hopes these programs will be ongoing throughout the year and will encourage their staff to continue to ‘live well’.
