PRIME Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has opened the newest Government Service Centre in the Northern Division.
Designed to be a point of contact for Government in the North, the new centre demonstrates Government’s commitment in making services and facilities more accessible to the public in the North.
In his statement the Prime Minister emphasised the Government’s commitment to creating efficiency in the public service.
“As your Prime Minister I regard delivery of basic services as Government’s main priority,” the head of Government said.
“I want Government to keep its promises to the people to deliver, not just to pay lip service to the idea, which is what we all know happened in the past.”
Once the centre is up and running it will provide a whole range of services for at least 20 separate Government agencies which the Prime Minister highlighted was previously accessible to a limited number.
“The service centre means what it says- service. We are serving the people, taxpayers and their dependents, who deserve much higher standard of attention, efficiency, courtesy and respect.”
