The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon.Ratu Inoke Kubuabola received a courtesy visit by HE Mr. Igor Morgulov, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Suva today.
HE Morgulov applauded Fiji for holding successful elections and for an impressive victory for the FijiFirst Party. He also acknowledged the respect the Russian Federation has towards Fiji in the conduct of independent foreign policy.
The Russian Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister also discussed ways to accelerate Russian trade and investment in Fiji that could see both countries capitalizing on untapped potentials.
By strengthening ties with Russia, Fiji could also benefit from more cultural exchanges and developments in terms of capacity building and defense cooperation.
Minister Kubuabola assured Deputy Minister Morgulov that Fiji would work closely with his country in realizing how they could benefit from one another.
