The Reserve Bank of Fiji today has launched five hundred thousand fifty cents coins to commemorate and honor Iliesa Delana’s win at the Paralympics in London last year.
The Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji, Barry Whiteside said that the coin symbolized as something to be inspired about and looking forward in striving for the best.
The front of the coin features the Fijian Coat of Arms while the other side of the coin features an iconic image of Iliesa Delana during his event of high jump clearing the bar at the 2012 Paralympics Games in London.
Meanwhile, the launch also marked the 40th anniversary celebrations of the Reserve Bank of Fiji while Delana being the first sportsman ever in the history of the Fiji to feature on a coin.
