Fiji Television Limited today has announced that it has secured the program rights to air Chelsea Football Club Matches on its platform for the next 3 seasons. The announcement was made following successful negotiations with program rights holders, IMG Media Ltd.
Chelsea TV is the Official Club Channel of Chelsea football Club. Fiji TV will be airing delayed coverage of all Chelsea Home and Away matches from the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carling Cup.
“We welcome this great news even as the Premier League is into its sixth round of matches this weekend. We also acknowledge our subscribers disappointments with the non-airing of EPL Series for 2013 and 2014. Iam optimistic that this news will be welcomed by our Chelsea fans in our pacific broadcast territories,” said Fiji TV Chief Executive Officer, Tevita Gonelevu.
Meanwhile the territories covered by the agreement include Fiji, Cook Islands, Kiribati Islands, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, North Mariana Islands, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Wallis and Futuna Islands, American Samoa and Guam.
