Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s today held their tournament’s pool draws at the Fun World Plaza Hotel with a confirmation of a total of 64 teams participating.
Tournament president Manasa Nabau said they had to make a decision yesterday of the number of teams participating.
“Up till 4pm yesterday, we had to make the toughest decision on whether to increase the number of teams participating. But had to stick to 64, due to unavailability of grounds,” he said.
Fiji Bitter Sales and Marketing Manager Joe Rodan said this year’s Nawaka 7s, he would like to challenge the national coaches.
“This tournament will feature a lot of good players that will perform to the best of their abilty, so therefore, I would like to challenge the coaches to put together the right players to win the upcoming IRB Sevens World Cup,” he said.
Meanwhile, there are 16 pools of four teams, and they are;
Pool 1: Westfield 1, Ocean Breeze, Abba Youth, Vomo.
Pool 2: Botaira, Wardens Green, Taki Beer Mokani, Golden Eagles.
Pool 3: Ratu Filise Blue, Lomaiviti Babas, Gaunavou (Nadro), Nasolo YB.
Pool 4: Army Red, Sabeto, Marist, Momi.
Pool 5: Tale Babas 1, Nasinu, Natabua, Senibiau.
Pool 6: Western Force, Nadi Stormers, Draulu, Burenitu Blues.
Pool 7: Nawaka Black, Wadigi Babas, Vusama Tigers, Yalovata.
Pool 8: Samurai Babas, Covenant Bro, Nasivikoso, Vunavaivai.
Pool 9: Police (Suva), Vio, Red Rock II, Starwood Savusavu.
Pool 10: Red Rock I, Delasui, Vuda Blues, Westfield II.
Pool 11: Army Green, Cagimaira, Ratu Filise Yellow, Veitacini YB (Rewa).
Pool 12: Saunaka, Mosi, Dritabua, Vuda Green.
Pool 13: Wardens Gold, Veiyasana Senikau, Hideaway Hurricanes, Natabua Gold.
Pool 14: Yamacia Rakavi, Nawaka White, Tubernacle, Navatulevu Crusaders.
Pool 15: Coastal Rentals, Tale Babas II, Koroba, Boomerang.
Pool 16: Mala YB, Cakaudrove Warrior, Solevu, Tovolea (Nadroga)
The Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s will kick start this weekend at the Prince Charles, Nadi.
