1 May 2014 – Digicel Fiji has announced today its sponsorship of the Netball Tri-Series Plus One tournament to be played in Suva next week.
In a milestone signing, a first-ever for the telecommunication company to sponsor Netball, the $15,000 cash and an additional $15,000 in kind agreement was signed with Netball Fiji this afternoon.
“I’m overwhelmed to support Netball and we are delighted to sponsor the sport for the first time,” said Digicel Fiji’s Commercial Director, Mr. Andrew Skelton.
“I’m pleased to support the largest women sport in the country. This sponsorship includes cash plus sims for all players, credit for Fiji Pearls team players, training tee-shirts for the Pearls and Fiji ‘A” and other support that Netball Fiji needs to host this week-long tournament.”
Netball Fiji President, Mrs. Wainikiti Bogidrau was happy to pen this new deal as the organization looks to host three overseas teams next week.
“This sponsorship has come at an opportune time, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. I want to thank Digicel for this sponsorship and the support for the tournament and the Fiji teams,” said Mrs. Bogidrau.
“We are hoping to showcase top class netball skills next week and assure you that we’ll give you a great return on your investment with Netball.”
The tournament will be known as the Digicel Tri-Series Plus One and starts on Tuesday, 6th May in Suva.
