Monday 12 August – The second Digicel Cup semifinal between Suva and Nadi will be played at the ANZ Stadium in Suva on Friday.
The Fiji Rugby Union has been forced to play the game on Friday with the Stadium booked to host the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby finals on Saturday.
The winner of the Suva – Nadi game will take on defending champions Nadroga in the final at Lawaqa Park on Saturday week.
“Suva and Nadi match-up’s are always a big one to watch and I’m sure this clash will be no different,” said Digicel Fiji’s head of marketing, Ms. Sheryl Singh.
Nadi will be out to prove a point especially after a protest decision was over-turned in favour of Vatukoula and the jet-setters lost their spot at the summit of the Digicel Cup points table.
“We will be coming to Suva with a mission, we are treating this game as a final and we have a point to prove which we are confident of doing on the field of play,” said Nadi’s assistant coach, Joeli Lotawa.
National provincial finals rugby will be played on a Friday evening after a long-spell and this is something many fans are going to enjoy.
Digicel Fiji is also preparing a treat for the fans with halftime dancing entertainment, free Fiji 7s team autographed rugby balls giveaways and free placards of both teams.
A Digicel phone in box and a t-shirt will be on offer for the man of the match.
