Fiji 7s team proud sponsor, Digicel Fiji have sent a special message to the sevens side ahead of the opening round of the IRB 7s World Series on the Gold Coast in Australia.
Digicel Fiji chief executive officer, Maurice McCarthy says his looking forward to a big 7s event this weekend.
“I wish the Digicel Fiji 7s team all the best in Gold Coast and look forward to an exciting 7s weekend,” said Mr. McCarthy.
“I’m confident the side under new coach, Ben Ryan and new skipper and Digicel Fiji brand ambassador, Osea Kolinisau will perform well this weekend as they aim to win their third straight Gold Coast title.”
“I’ve received excellent news that the team has prepared well and I’m positive they will do well in Saturday’s pool games against Wales, Canada and Portugal and the finals play-offs on Sunday.”
Digicel Fiji has a bonus payment in the contract which is performance based and applies when the team reaches the cup quarterfinals. Depending on how the team performs the bonus will be paid to the team when they arrive home next week.
Meanwhile, the IRB Gold Coast 7s kicks off this Saturday at 12.30pm with Fiji’s first pool match against the Canadian side at 1.58pm.
