Sonam Kapoor, who has just completed shooting for director Anand L Rai’s Raanjhnaa and has started shooting for Yash Raj Films’ next with Ayushmann Khurrana in Delhi, will take a day’s break and fly to Mumbai for her father, Anil Kapoor. A source close to the family reveals that Anil is
having the opening ceremony of his newly acquired studio, Stage1, in Andheri, and he wants his entire family to be present for it. “The actor will have a small puja before starting work at his studio for good luck. He has even called Sonam from Delhi, where the actor is shooting for YRF’s next, specially for it,” says the source.
The actor, who has already started shooting for his television series, 24, will be canning several portions of the show there. “The puja will take place on March 21, after which Anil will start the shooting there,” says the source. Anil has bought the rights of the hit American TV series, 24. The actor will make his Indian television debut as special agent of the Counter Terrorist Unit. His character was played by Kiefer Sutherland in the original. The Hindi version is being directed by Abhinay Deo, the man behind Delhi Belly, 2011, and will also feature Anupam Kher in a cameo role.
Anil has just finished shooting for Shootout At Wadala and is racing against time to wrap the television series, as he is soon to start London-based filmmaker Anand Tucker’s next, which is tentatively titled, Indian Sherlock.
When contacted, the actor confirms the development and says, “I want to start the shooting of 24 within the premises and would like to have my family members present on the first day of the shoot.”
