Cricket Fiji has become the first sports governing body to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Special Olympics Fiji.
Chaiman of the Special Olympics Fiji Board, Bishwa Sidal, and Cricket Fiji General Manager, Inoke Lesuma, met at Suva Special School today to sign the MoU, outlining the ongoing strengthening of the partnership between the two organisations.
Cricket Fiji will continue to provide staff and equipment to help facilitate all necessary Special Olympics sporting events in Fiji, whilst the Special Olympics have agreed to promote Cricket Fiji’s Inclusive Cricket Program amongst all their members, including schools and community groups.
Both parties hope that the groundwork made by their organisations will encourage other sporting bodies to ensure athletes of all abilities can participate in a wider range of sports.
