For Charlene Tafuna’i the work never ends as she prepares herself for the rigors of competing in the Miss World competition.
One day its dance or voice elocution, the next aerobics, or singing, or stage presence and all of it are to ensure that her abilities are focused on winning the crown.
For the young Nadi resident among her greatest challenges is beating her record in the 50 metre freestyle each week in training at the National Aquatic Centre where she works with David Dugu, the assistant coach from the Babale Swim Club in Suva.
“She challenges herself every week and you can see the difference. I understand that it is still to be determined what event she will compete in at Miss World, but if it is swimming she will be ready,” said Mr. Dugu
According to Andhy Blake all of the effort is to ensure that not only is she performing to the peak of her abilities, but also has the stamina to face the many challenges.
The Miss World competition will be held in London on December 14.
