One Hundred Sands Limited which won the casino license rights to be built on Denerau Island in Nadi is willing to pay US$100,000 equivalent to around FJ$185,000 per monthly penalty to the government.
While the Minister for Tourism, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum had confirmed earlier this week that the government would be writing a letter asking the company as to why their license should not be canceled.
Chairman for the company Larry Claunch, confirmed that they are willing to pay the government the acquired amount, as he arrived in the country on Friday and said that the plans and designs for the casino was underway with their architects in US.
Meanwhile, Mr Claunch also confirmed that the company’s budget for the casino was standing to US$290million which is equivalent to FJ$537.9million in total to complete the project.
In which the construction works for the project should take around 15 to 20 months.
