The organisers of Fiji’s biggest volleyball tournament, the Marist Volleyball Tournament are calling on business houses in Taveuni, Savusavu and Labasa to support the 5 Northern teams who have qualified for this years tournament.
This is the first time for teams from Vanua Levu and Savusavu to be invited to the Marist Tournament which carries the biggest prize package in any serious volleyball event in the country.
Marist Volleyball Club President Anare Tuitoga, the five teams have been invited from their exceptional performances at the Fiji Bitter sponsored Savusavu and Wairiki 7s events in which volleyball was also included.
“We just would like the business houses to know that now there will be three great events annually in which teams from the north will participate in volleyball, not everyone plays rugby or netball.
“Volleyball is now coming to your doorsteps to open doors for your youths, so every year now we will have the Wairiki tournament, the Savusavu Tournament than after which they will be required to travel down to Suva for the Marist Tournament, all tournaments sponsored by Paradise Beverages.”
The teams are the Service and Waica team from Taveuni and from Savusavu are the Naqere Flames, Blackrock, Mystics from Labasa and Riverside from Wainunu in Bua.
