A 23-year-old sales boy of Ra became the second road fatality within a few hours in the Western Division yesterday.
The deceased was travelling with 3 other passengers in a four wheel drive along Ellington road at 1725hrs when the deceased failed to negotiate a bend, causing the vehicle to tumble four times before hitting a FEA post.
The group is alleged to have been returning from a drinking party when the incident occurred.
The 23year old was rushed to the Rakiraki Hospital however was pronounced dead on arrival. The other 3 passengers were admitted with minor cuts.
The road death toll currently stands at 20 compared to 21 for the same period last year.
