Four villagers from Soso Village in Naviti Island in the Yasawa Group are in trouble for allegedly beating up a nearby resort owner.
According to a statement released by Police this morning, the four entered Naukacuvu Island between 9am – 10am yesterday resort on Naukacuvu Island and assaulted the owners.
According to the statement, the dispute arose after 16 workers of the resort were given termination letters by the victims for not turning up to work and inconsistent performances.
A team of 10 police officers from Lautoka are now on the island to investigate the matter and the situation is now under control.
There were a total of 200 workers doing construction on the resort which will be opening soon.
