Nadroga is the only team which has defeated Nadi twice in the Fiji Sun / GP Batteries National league series.
The visitors yesterday edged hosts Jacks Nadi at Prince Charles Park via a lone first half goal from Thomas Coster.
It was a classic header straight into the Nadi goal mouth after keeper Beniamino Matanaqara left his domain to take control of the ball.
The stallions led 1-0 at half time and continued to deny Nadi an opportunity to break their defense.
Things went worse for Nadi after Amani Makoe was given the marching orders by referee Dina Mani for a foul on Nadroga’s Ranjit Singh in the second spell.
While the green machines kept majority of the possession in the second spell, the side failed to break the Nadroga defense.
Nadroga coach Ramesh Sharma said the win is a good start for the boys as they prepare for the Vodafone Fiji Fact.
“I thank the boys for a great game as it is always nice to beat Nadi in their home ground,” Sharma said.
He said the side will be naming the Fiji Fact line-up on Monday.
Meanwhile, Nadi continues to enjoy the lead in the league ladder with 25 points after playing 12 games. Full points table below.
