Eminent Persons from the Group of 77 have started arriving ahead of the G77 Eminent Persons Group meeting at Natadola which begins tomorrow morning.
The Prime Minister of Solomon Islands Hon. Gordon Da’rcy Lilo arrived last night after Vanuatu Prime Minister Moana Kalosil.
The President of Bolivia His Excellency Evo Morales arrives this morning. President Morales attendance is a first for him to Oceania. The Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea Honorable Peter O’Neil is also arriving today.
The two – day meeting will begin tomorrow morning with a guard of honour before the meeting proper begins.
The G-77 is the largest association of Third World countries before the United Nations which not only promotes technical and commercial cooperation, but also forms a political-economic bloc with a better negotiating capacity.
Created in 1964, it groups 130 nations now that seek to articulate the interest of countries of the South and increase their influence in multilateral forums.
