On behalf of my government, the People of the Republic of Fiji and myself, I wish to extend to your Excellency our warm and heartfelt congratulations on your new responsibility as President of the People’s Republic of China. Your appointment demonstrates the confidence which the people of China have reposed in the Party’s foresightedness and able leadership to continue the reform and transformation of your great country.
We, the people of Fiji are sure that with your impeccable credentials, your Excellency stands in good position to lead your great country into the future.
The People’s Republic of China has been a genuine friend and a valuable development partner of Fiji. Recent efforts to deepen our bilateral co-operation through increased exchanges and people to people contacts are a testament of the long standing friendship between our people.
I strongly hope and am confident that co-operation between our two great countries will be further developed and elevated into greater height during your tenure as President of the People’s Republic of China.
I also wish to express our commitment to the “One China Policy” and assure Your Excellency our respect and support to the greatest possible extent to achieving this objective.
