The Fiji Roads Authority has advised members of the public that the Naduru Bridge in Tailevu will be closed for urgent repairs this week.
The Authority’s chief executive officer Neil Cook said that while the works have been ongoing, they are positive that this should normalise by Thursday this week.
“The road will be closed from Tuesday 26th February to carry out urgent works on the top decking of the bridge. It is expected to reopen on Thursday this week. We have also advised Island Buses who service this route,” CEO Neil Cook said.
While he has also asked the public to bear with contractors as they carry out works, he has also stressed that these repair works need to be complete to avoid any future mishaps or accidents.
“The bridge is located on Nadura Road, Nausori and is used by school buses and the general public, so of course the safety of citizens must come first,” Mr Cook said.
