The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola met with the Senior Officials from the Korean company MND Outplacement Service Centre to look at business proposals.
MND Outplacement Service Centre director Mr Oh Myong, and the Chairman of of Yujin Kreves Limited, Mr Young Kee Moon and Mr Y.G.Chang met with the Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Suva where the delegation discussed areas which could be strengthened.
The Korean investors have shown interest in various areas of investment which is guaranteed to benefit both countries. The projects which the investors are interested in include the establishment of a center for retirees from Korea to spend their retirement years in Fiji and the possibility of a medical exchange program which will see the training of Fijian doctors in Korea as well as providing free medical aid for children requiring heart surgery.
Mr Moon had suggested the possibility of a Memorandum of Understanding on Exchange of information pertaining to Ocean and Environment between NGO’s and the establishment of a Golf practicing school in Fiji. In addition to this and considering the interest of the many young Korean students in learning the English language, Mr Moon also discussed the possibility of Korean students learning English in Fiji given the reasonable cost of education here.
