Fiji Revenue & Customs Authority are now partnering with other businesses to lessen risks on imported goods to the country.
National Manager for Risk & Compliance Tevita Tupou said they are working with other agencies in order to help them in the actions they are to attempt.
“We have a standing memorandum of association with the rest of the other 22 agencies that we are working with,” he said.
Tupou mentioned that they are also to sign a MOU with the Fiji Police Force too.
“This is regarding illegal goods like drugs that are imported in our country, the missing currencies, we usually confiscate and investigate them,” he said.
Today they celebrate their world’s custom’s day at the Airports Fiji Limited with the theme, “Innovation for Customs progress”.
Fiji Revenue &Customs Authority Manager Manikam Govind said every year they celebrate it not only to thank their staffs for the hard work but also look forward for the betterment for their future.
“We need to be committed, we need to encourage and force other customers to join other agencies,” he said.
A total of 700,000 visitors were received last year by our country as recorded by the firm.
