Vodafone Fiji has congratulated Mr. Rajesh Patel on his reappointment as the President of Fiji Football Association. “I wish to congratulate Mr. Rajesh Patel and his team on their reappointment to the Fiji Football office”, said Mr.
Pradeep Lal, the CEO of Vodafone Fiji. The re-election is a vote of confidence by the soccer fraternity in Mr. Patel and provides continuity in the Fiji FA administration.
Vodafone and CJ Patel Group of Companies signed a five year soccer sponsorship deal with Fiji Football in 2014 covering all levels of soccer. Since our sponsorship of Fiji Football 2 years ago, we have forged a very cordial and productive partnership with Fiji FA and achieved some significant milestones along the way.
For the first time in Fiji Football’s history a team any age category qualified for a FIFA world cup event with the Vodafone U20 team playing in U20 world cup in New Zealand. They went on to win against five consecutive qualifiers Honduras in the first world cup outing.
The Vodafone U23 team also qualified for the Olympic Games to be held in Rio next year. This, together with the Vodafone 7’s Rugby side will see the two major sports of rugby and football being represented at Olympics. We are delighted to be the brand behind the success of these teams.
We acknowledge Mr. Patel’s leadership in steering Fiji Football on the path of redemption and we look forward to working closely with him to take Fiji Soccer to greater heights.
Once again, we congratulate Mr. Patel and his team on their reelection and wish them a fruitful and successful second term in office.
