Three time Fijian representative and Cricket Fiji development officer Manase Ravula from Lakeba in the Lau Islands departed Fiji for Sydney last week to undertake a three-month Scholarship with Cricket NSW and Cricket Australia.
Manase was chosen as part of the Australian Sports Commissions Pacific Sports Partnership program ‘Australian Fellowship Awards 2015’, covering flights, accommodation and education fees with local travel and communication allowances.
Ravula also gained strong support whilst on his scholarship from the Fijian side as well, with the Fiji National Sports Commission kindly sponsoring him for $5800FJD worth of uniforms, allowances, and equipment whilst in Australia.
Ravula will reside in Sydney for the three months and take up rotating positions in local councils and Governments, Cricket NSW head office as well as undertaking a course in critical and strategic problem solving at the prestigious ‘Australian Institute of Management’.
“I’m very excited to see how Cricket NSW and Cricket Australia run and really hope to learn new skills I can bring back to Fiji and use in my job with Cricket Fiji”, Ravula Said.
