Staffs and management of Penang Sangam High School in Rakiraki are at last happy after the Rotary Club of Australia together with the University of Fiji donated a cheque to them earlier today at the Trans International Hotel, Nadi.
School’s Manger Manikam Gounder said they are very proud about the donation as it will help the school and students a lot.
“I am very overwhelmed about this donation that is being given to us, because at the moment we are using one of the school’s 2 halls that are being divided into 4 classrooms,” he said.
The fire had completely destroyed four classrooms, three staff offices and two storage rooms at the school in an early morning on Friday, November 30th, 2012.
Gounder also mentioned that the school is also ready to open for this year.
“We have attended construction work and the tender is scheduled to be closing this week,” he said.
Rotary Club President Richard Herr said they are also happy about what they do and are always looking forward to help the people in need.
The cheque amount was not allowed to be disclosed to the media.
