Mostly cloudy and humid weather prevailed over the west this past week. A tropical low embedded in the South Pacific Convergence Zone (SPCZ) lay between the west of Viti Levu and Vanuatu earlier this week bringing some heavy falls with thunder and local flash flooding. Thanks to this tropical low, rainfall was reported from all the stations. Accumulation in the excess of 120mm was recorded in Penang Mill, Monasavu and Nacocolevu. The highest 24 hour accumulation was 77mm for Penang Mill on 7th February while Monasavu had an impressive weekly accumulation of 168mm.
Weekend will bring increasing sunshine during the morning although afternoon showers are still likely. No sign of any major weather systems on the horizon.
